what a mess

A: What's up, Carla?
B: Oh, don't mess with me, now, Loren.
A: Whoa! Looks like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed. What happened?
B: I have had a really lousy day.
A: Come on, tell me.
B: I've worked my head off to finish my project. Only to be rejected in the end.
A: That's too bad. Why?
B: I submitted the wrong papers.

call it a day

A: I am beat.
B: So am I. We've been cleaning the shop for seven hours-- straight.
A: Uhuh. Okay,let's call it a day.
B: Yes. I've been waiting for you to say that. See you tomorrow.
A: Bye.
B: Bye.

say that again, please

A: I'm taking a day off tomorrow and spend the day in Vegas.
B: Excuse me, will you please say that again?
A: I said, I am going to Vegas.
B: Oh. Have a good time, then.
A: I could go with a friend.
B: I beg your pardon?
A: What I'm trying to say is: you can come with me.
B: Oh. Thanks. That is thoughtful of you. But I have so many things to finish here. Besides, I know you'll be with your family.
A: Okay. Don't say I didn't ask you.
B: It's okay. You go paint the town red.
